It is kinda down to style though, some players don't mind taking out more markers or pulling cash out of their pocket a lot, but I don't. Pass line and two come bets, I'd want $3,000. So if you have two bets out there, either a pass line and a come bet that moves to a number, or a place and a come bet that moves to a number, and you take full odds, you're averaging $100 out there, I'd want a $2,000 buy in if I wanted to play for a while. If you play full odds at a 3x-4x-5x table, figure your average odds bet is going to be a little over 4x, but we'll call it 4. Hardways and being lucky is a way to make good $ at craps, and so is pressing aggressively and being lucky, and hit-an-run.īut if you basically enjoy playing, want to be able to play for a long time (like 2 - 4 hrs a day) to add to your theo for comps and be able to ride out the swings, my math goes something like this.Īt least 20x the base amount you have out there including odds, but probably excluding hardways unless you bet them all the time. Do you find you get much play out of that?
A couple of hundred buy in is miniscule for a $10 table with full odds on a couple of bets and playing hardways. Depends on how long you want to be able to play.
